Philips Garage Limited is an MOT Vehicle Testing Station (VTS station number S000484) approved by the Department of Transport located in the Gallowgate in the heart of Glasgow. We conduct MOT Tests on Class 4 and Class 7 vehicles and we can handle Class 5 vehicles on your behalf. Our pricing and testing policies are guided by DVSA, in the event that your car fails to meet the MOT standard, there will be no retest fee applied should you allow us to carry out the necessary maintenance & retest within ten days of the original test date.

The Ministry of Transport test (usually abbreviated to MOT test) is an annual test of automobile safety, road worthiness aspects & exhaust emissions required for most vehicles over three years old used on public roads in the United Kingdom. Our authorized MOT examiner will test over 200 individual items and components on your vehicle and make the necessary arrangements to conduct any advisory work to ensure your vehicle meets the industry standard.

 

You are permitted to present your vehicle to any Vehicle Testing Station up to one month prior to the MOT anniversary date whilst still preserving the date of renewal.

The result of each MOT is recorded on the national database, if the vehicle passes the MOT test the driver will be issued with a VT20 certificate confirming the vehicle to pass and meet industry standards. In the event that the vehicle fails to meet the required standards determined by the DVSA, a VT30 certificate is issued confirming failure to meet industry standards will be generated. Should the online MOT testing service be unavailable due to technical error, we will administer a CT20 (pass certificate), CT30 (refusal certificate) or CT32 (advisory notice) contingency certificate. Please note that the assessment is based on the condition of the vehicle on the day of the test.
